Join us THIS SUNDAY, January 29th, to help raise money for our bestest of friends and one of the best humans on this planet, Alex Berman — by PLAYING BOARD GAMES FOR OVER 12 HOURS!!!!!!!

One of my very best friends, Alex Berman, is currently fighting cancer and undergoing serious and extensive treatment in Seattle. Alex lives in New York City, has an amazing wife and two amazing twin boys and is 33 years old. Alex has to be away from his family for many months during this treatment and his medical bills are ASTRONOMICAL — as I’m sure you can imagine.

Alex is a fighter and we know in our hearts that Alex will survive, but my friend Jake and I want to do whatever we can to help ease Alex and his family’s intense financial burden.

This is why our weekly, nerdy Game Night is finally seeing the light of day for the greatest of reasons.

SUNDAY JAN 29th from 10AM - MIDNIGHT, come join us at GALLERY 1988 in Venice:

214 Pier Avenue Santa Monica, CA 90405 (East of Main St)

We’ll roll dice, move pieces, deal cards, eat pizza and get our drink on to raise some coin for Alex.

$20 ENTRY FEE gets you free food, drink and a WIDE LIBRARY OF BOARD GAMES TO BE PLAYED all day long— BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE: there will be some AMAZING PRIZES to be won as well. People have donated some CRAZY amazing stuff to this cause: tickets to sporting events, video games, board games and other amazing things.

BOARD GAMES?!?! What are you talking about? Well, long story short: Monopoly, Candyland and Scrabble just don’t cut it these days. There is an entire world of amazing fun board games, often called “Designer Board Games” or “Euro-style” board games.

“BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO PLAY ANY OF THOSE GAMES!!!!”

Shhhh…. there will be smart nerdy people teaching new games you’ve never played — so don’t worry if you have no idea how to play any awesome fancy board games. YOU WILL LEARN AND HAVE FUN!

Also, there will be scorekeepers tracking your wins and awarding you points for winning — most people will have no idea how to play so everyone will be on a pretty even playing field.

Points can be received in three ways:

1. For winning games (different points depending on the complexity of the game)
2. Total time spent at the event (you will get points for every hour you stay)
3. Points can be bought for cold hard cash.

SEE IT’S LIKE A GAME TOO!!!! WHEEEE!!!!

Not one cent of the funds raised will pay for the party, that’s on us, and it’s our pleasure. ALL proceeds taken in at the event go directly to the Berm himself. We’ll accept Cash, Check and Credit Cards (we’ve got a PayPal account up and running).

Nerds, bring your ladies if you’ve got them (it happens). Ladies, come play some games and maybe meet the dork of your dreams. All you cool people who are secretly geeks at heart, come and play and maintain your hip facade by saying it’s really just for charity.
